Registered Nurses, Student Nurses, Health Workers and other Health Professionals who are Maori can register as a member of TE KAUNIHERA O NGA NEEHI MAORI. Kaumatua/Kuia also able to be a TE KAUNIHERA O NGA NEEHI MAORI member.

Fees are paid annually 01 April to 31 March. Indemnity Insurance is also available for Registered Nurses and other Heath Professionals.

A database of all registrations is maintained by the business unit and information is regularly disseminated amongst the network by email and panui.

Membership Benefits

  • A collective of Maori nurses to strengthen the voice of health issues form a nursing perspective for Maori and all others.

  • The NCMN will be holding a national conference every two years.

  • Access to current national information throughout the network on a daily, weekly basis.

  • Job Vacancies will be distributed by email only and students may want to also forward information for advertising for work opportunities by email.

  • Access to nursing expertise within Te Ao Maori.

  • Strength and collective unity by being a part of a an alliance with other national Maori associations known as the Te Wheke Alliance.

  • Development of Wananga Hauora programmes.

  • Service Contracts requires Specialist Skills - the NCMN has determined to apply for contracts that are within our area of skills and expertise. We would like to hear from any nurses who are interested in achieving these contracts on our behalf. Payment will be via a subcontract of services and the Business Unit will support all administration requirements.
